‘Sprint King’ Alonzo Greaves takes top podium spot ahead of Robin Persaud

Alonzo Greaves fought off the treat of cramps in the final straight to outsprint arch rival Robin Persaud to win the Lochand Persaud & Raymond Khan sponsored 80-mile cycle road race yesterday from the City to Dora on the Linden Soesdyke Highway and back to Homestretch Avenue for the finish.

The event which started in Albert Street attracted 41-starters and saw the riders being sent on their way by Chrystal and Christopher Persaud, children of the sponsor.
